Welcome to BrightVow Ceremonies! These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website https://www.brightvowceremonies.com, services, and any transactions or interactions with us.

By using our website, booking our services, or otherwise engaging with BrightVow Ceremonies ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our services.

Welcome to BrightVow Ceremonies! These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website https://www.brightvowceremonies.com, services, and any transactions or interactions with us.

By using our website, booking our services, or otherwise engaging with BrightVow Ceremonies ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our services.

1. Services Offered

BrightVow Ceremonies provides the following officiant services. All ceremonies are performed in accordance with applicable state and county laws governing marriage officiation.

  • Legal wedding ceremonies

  • Elopements and vow renewals

  • Custom and pre-written ceremony scripts

  • Marriage license signing and submission

  • Additional services and keepsakes as outlined on our website

2. Eligibility & Legal Compliance

To book our services, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old or the legal age to marry in your state/county.

  • Provide accurate and truthful information during the booking and ceremony process.

  • Obtain a valid marriage license if required by law.

  • Comply with local, state, and federal marriage laws.

3. Booking, Payments & Refund Policy

3.1. Booking & Payment Terms

  • A non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your date.

  • Full payment must be completed at least 7 days before the ceremony.

  • Payments are processed securely via third party online payment processors (Example: Apple Pay, Stripe, PayPal, etc.) No cash or checks are accepted.

  • Travel fees apply based on the service location.

3.2. Invoice Validity

  • All deposit invoices issued by BrightVow Ceremonies are valid for 7 days from the invoice date. If the deposit remains unpaid after this period, the invoice will be considered canceled, and your requested date(s) may no longer be valid.

  • Until the deposit invoice is paid in full, no event date is guaranteed, and BrightVow Ceremonies reserves the right to offer the requested date to another party.

3.3. Deposit Requirement

  • A non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your date.

  • Full payment must be completed at least 7 days before the ceremony.

  • Payments are processed securely via third party online payment processors (Example: Apple Pay, Stripe, PayPal, etc.) No cash or checks are accepted.

  • Travel fees apply based on the service location.

3.4. Payment Promptness

  • We encourage all customers to submit deposits as soon as possible to avoid any scheduling conflicts.

  • Event bookings are only confirmed upon receipt of the required deposit; delays in payment may result in the loss of your requested date.

3.5. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations more than 30 days before the event: Full refund of the sum of all payments toward that event (excluding the booking fee).

  • Cancellations within 30 days of the event: 50% refund of the sum of all payments toward that event (excluding the booking fee).

  • Rescheduling more than 7 days of the event: All payments made will apply to the new booking date, including the non-refundable booking fee. If the newly scheduled date is within 30 days from the day's date, payment for the event must be made in full to complete the final booking.

  • Rescheduling less than 7 days from the event: An additional $100 rescheduling fee may apply.

  • No-Shows: No refunds and no rescheduling allowed. Some exceptions may apply for rescheduling.

  • Deposits: If a deposit invoice remains unpaid after 7 calendar days, it will be automatically canceled, and the requested date(s) may become available to other clients. Should you wish to reschedule or reinstate a canceled invoice, a new deposit invoice may be issued, subject to availability and our current rates.

We reserve the right to cancel services due to extreme weather, emergencies, illness, or force majeure events (see section 7). In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or provide a refund.

4. Marriage License & Legal Documentation

  • Couples are responsible for applying for, obtaining, and bringing their marriage license to the ceremony.

  • If a license is required, we will not perform the ceremony without it.

  • We will sign and submit the license to the appropriate county/state office unless otherwise agreed.

  • We retain copies of legally required documents for record-keeping but do not store licenses indefinitely.

4.1. Marriage License Submission Timelines

  • We will submit the license within 5 business days of the ceremony.

  • Couples are responsible for following up with the issuing office to confirm processing.

5. Client Responsibilities

By booking our services, you agree to:

  • Arrive on time for your scheduled ceremony.

  • Provide accurate details for your ceremony (e.g., names, dates, location).

  • Treat the officiant and staff with respect.

  • Obtain any necessary permits for venue use.

  • Comply with state and local laws regarding marriage ceremonies.

If any issues arise due to client misrepresentation, failure to obtain proper documentation, or non-compliance with these Terms, we reserve the right to cancel services without a refund.

6. Service Limitations & Restrictions

  • No proxy marriages unless permitted by state law and pre-approved in writing.

  • No fraudulent marriages. We will not officiate if we suspect fraud, coercion, or legal violations.

  • No underage marriages without legally valid parental or judicial consent.

  • No firearm or weapon-carrying guests at ceremonies unless explicitly permitted by law.

  • No hate speech or discriminatory content. We reserve the right to refuse service if a ceremony promotes discrimination, harm, or unlawful activity.

7. Force Majeure (Unforeseen Circumstances)

We are not liable for cancellations, reschedules, or non-performance due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • Extreme weather conditions (hurricanes, floods, wildfires, etc.).

  • Natural disasters or pandemics.

  • Government regulations or travel restrictions.

  • Serious illness, injury, or emergencies affecting the officiant.

In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the ceremony or issue a refund.

8. Website & Digital Services

By using our website, you agree to:

  • Not misuse, hack, or disrupt our website.

  • Not submit false or misleading information through forms.

  • Not copy, reproduce, or distribute our proprietary content or ceremony scripts without written permission.

  • Allow us to use anonymized ceremony details (e.g., first names, non-sensitive photos) for marketing purposes unless opted out.

9. Privacy & Data Handling

We handle personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Key points include:

  • Data collection: We collect personal and marriage-related information necessary for service fulfillment.

  • ID & Document retention: We may retain copies of identification and legal documents for compliance and record-keeping purposes.

  • Payment Security: Transactions are processed through secure, third-party platforms.

  • Data Deletion Requests: You may request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements.

10. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

  • Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved informally through direct communication.

  • If unresolved, disputes will be handled through arbitration in the state of Texas.

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of The State of Texas, and any legal claims shall be filed in Travis County.

11. Liability & Hold Harmless

  • We are not responsible for venue issues, third-party vendor errors, or external disruptions affecting your ceremony.

  • Our maximum liability is limited to the amount paid for the officiant services.

  • We are not liable for any lost marriage licenses or incorrect filings due to client negligence or governmental processing delays.

11.1. Limited Liability

  • BrightVow Ceremonies (hereafter "we," "us," "our") shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to the services provided, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or loss of profits, even if advised of such damages.

11.2. Force Majeure (Unforeseen Circumstances)

  • We shall not be liable for cancellations or delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, pandemics, or sudden illness/emergencies of the officiant.

11.3. Hold Harmless Agreement

  • By using our services, you (the client) agree to indemnify, defend, and hold BrightVow Ceremonies, its owner(s), employee(s), and representative(s) harmless from any and all claims, demands, losses, liabilities, and damages arising directly or indirectly from the performance of our services.

  • This includes any third-party claims made against us as a result of your actions or omissions.

11.4. Client Responsibilities

  • It is the client's responsibility to obtain any required permits, permissions, or authorizations for the event location. We are not responsible for fines, penalties, or other damages resulting from noncompliance with local laws or regulations.

  • The client is also responsible for ensuring a valid marriage license is obtained and presented with proper identification (if applicable). We are not liable if the ceremony cannot legally proceed due to missing or invalid documentation.

11.5. Maximum Liability

  • In all circumstances, the maximum liability of BrightVow Ceremonies shall not exceed the total fees charged for the service in question.

  • We are not liable for any lost marriage licenses or incorrect filings due to client negligence or governmental processing delays.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The most recent version will always be available on our website, with the Last Updated date displayed. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
